I always wanted to actually get out and see the giant Pelican but when my dad was set in motion he didn't want to stop for anything. Last time I was in Detroit Lakes I drove down and got to explore this charming town. The Pelican was great but the thing I loved the most were the painted chairs outside the local businesses. Instead of putting in street benches the shops have uniquely painted chairs.
