Crocheted Round Rug Cotton Yarn - Arts and Crafts

This rug is coming along nicely but I'm a little concerned it's not heavyweight enough. I'm torn about finishing it or using what I have completed in some other way.

My youngest dog eating a hole in 3 rugs in 3 days has nothing to do with my indecision. She's eyeing the rug fondly and wants it something fierce.
